About Mater Dei
Mater Dei Latin Mass Community

The Mater Dei Latin Mass Community is a Roman Catholic community established under the jurisdiction of the Bishop of Dallas. Its purpose is to make available to the faithful the Sacraments as offered according to the liturgical books in use in 1962.

The Mater Dei Latin Mass Community operates within the proper jurisdictional hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church. The Community does not, in any way, condone those who think that it is possible to preserve "tradition" outside of full union with Rome and the valid successor of St. Peter, Pope John Paul II.

In August 2002, Fr. Joseph R. Valentine FSSP was re-assigned by the Fraternity to Vienna, Ohio.  He was replaced by Fr. Christopher Hathaway FSSP as Chaplain.
