The Sixth Day of October
- In the monastery at La Torre, in the diocese of Squillace in Calabria, St. Bruno, Confessor,
founder of the Order of the Carthusians.
- At Laodicea in Phrygia, blessed Sagar, Bishop and Martyr, who was one of the early disciples
of the Apostle Paul.
- At Auxerre, St. Romanus, Bishop and Martyr.
- At Capua, the birthday of the holy martyrs Marcellus, Castus Emilius and Saturninus.
- At Trier, the commemoration of the almost innumerable martyrs who were slain in various
ways in the persecution of Diocletian, under the governor Rictiovarus, for the faith of Christ.
- At Agen in France, the birthday of St. Faith, Virgin and Martyr, by whose example blessed
Caprasius was aroused to martyrdom and happily ended his own fight on October 20.
- Likewise, St. Erotis, Martyr, who, aflame with the love of Christ, overcame the flames of fire.
- At Oderzo in the neighbourhood of Venice, St. Magnus, Bishop, whose body rests in Venice.
- At Naples in Campania, the death of St. Mary Frances of the Five Wounds of our Lord Jesus
Christ, a Virgin of the Third Order of St. Francis, who, renowned for virtues and miracles,
was inscribed by Pope Pius IX on the roll of holy virgins.
And elsewhere many other holy martyrs, confessors and holy virgins. Thanks be to God.
