The First Day of October
- St. Remi, Bishop of Rheims and Confessor, who fell asleep in the Lord on January 13, and is
particularly commemorated on this day because of the translation of his body.
- At Rome, blessed Aretas, Martyr, and 504 others.
- At Tournai, France, St. Piat, Priest and Martyr, who went from the city of Rome to France to
preach, with blessed Quinctinus and his companions, and afterwards consummated martyrdom
in the per-secution of Maximian, and passed to the Lord.
- At Tomi in Pontus, the holy martyrs Priscus, Crescens and Evagrius.
- At Lisbon, Portugal, the holy martyrs Verissimus, Maxima and Julia, his sisters, who suffered
in Diocletian's persecution.
- At Thessalonica, St. Domninus, Martyr, under the Emperor Maximian.
- At Orvieto, St. Severus, Priest and Confessor.
- In the port of Ghent, St. Bavo, Confessor.
And elsewhere many other holy martyrs, confessors and holy virgins. Thanks be to God.
