Jammin' at Savvy's

This picture of RJ, Ricky Lynn Gregg, and Steve Jones was taken at Savvy's Nightclub in Ft. Worth sometime in July 1893. It was 'Come As You Are Night' which basically meant SLOB OUT! Ricky is decked out in a cotton tank top, playing his beloved pink BC Rich Bitch. Even the names of his guitars had 'attitude!'

Having a house gig gave us the opportunity to get our act really tight. Unless we were on the road, we were playing Savvy's six nights a week. It really was like a home away from home to me for several years.

The Ft. Worth Star Telegram did an article recently on the 'Routes of Rock.' It listed the top rock and roll clubs in the city's history. I'm proud to say that Savvy's was on that list.
