Rick Miller at Agora 1981

Rick Miller was Savvy's drummer, and he was also one of the owners of Savvy's Nightclub in Ft. Worth. Here he is seen onstage at the Dallas Agora sometime in 1981. Nice lighting reflecting off the drums.

Savvy was one of the first bands to put the drums and keyboards on the ends, and guitars in the middle. It gave us a very unique look to our stage setup. It also allowed the four of us in between to have plenty of room to put on a wild show without carving up our axes on razor sharp cymbals every night.

Rick was the founding member of Savvy, and it was the only band he ever played in. He was a solid drummer with a strong voice. I'm told he was also the best looking one in the group - but with all those drums around him, I never got a very good look!
