Mission
Statement of
The Wesleyan Academe
To provide excellence in Christian education
is the primary mission of The Wesleyan Academe. The Wesleyan Academe
provides a warm, loving environment for preschool and elementary aged
children to discover themselves as unique, important and contributing
members of our society.
Childrens capacity for learning and quest
for knowledge is never greater than during their early years. We gladly
accept the challenge of introducing them to concepts, expanding their
skills, and nurturing their spirits which will enhance future endeavors...
in and out of the classroom.
The Wesleyan Academe admits all children regardless
of race, creed, or religious background.
Early
Childhood Classes 1998-1999
Early Childhood classes prepare the preschool
aged child for future success as the child experiences a teacher-led,
knowledge-based environment which combines social awareness with varied
learning experiences.
Specific classes will be filled on a first come-first
served basis. Age level is determined by the childs age as of
September 1, 1998.

The Kindergarten
Experience
The Wesleyan Academe offers Kindergarten for
students who are ready to begin their elementary education. Our Kindergarten
is a fast paced adventure into the world of education. Emphasizing a
strong foundation in language, phonics, and quantitative skills, the
Kindergarten experience is enriched through the study of classical childrens
literature, Spanish, computer classes, class projects, and field trips.
Kindergarten students may choose a half-day
or full-day option. Core curriculum will be covered in the morning with
lunch, rest time, and enrichment activities in the afternoon.
Admission Procedures
1. Complete an enrollment form and return it along with the enrollment
fee. Forms are available in The Wesleyan Academe office.
2. If your child is not currently enrolled at The Wesleyan Academe,
you should schedule a meeting with Mrs. Lindsey, TWA Director, to discuss
Pre-Kindergarten Objectives.
3. Kindergarten Readiness Testing is required for all students. The
test date will be announced.
The
Elementary Experience
The Elementary Experience continues to encompass the same principles
to encourage individual achievement while moving the student forward
into a classical, teacher-led classroom. The day will include study
in Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies (including Geography),
and Reading. Fine Arts will include visual arts and music. Special classes
include Spanish and Computer Classes. The school day begins at 8:30
a.m. and dismisses at 3:15 p.m. The 1998-1999 school year will include
