The Royal Sonesta is fantastic!!

It is rated four diamonds by AAA and was named "One of the Best Places to Stay in the Whole World" by Conde Nast Traveler in the Gold edition. Take the time to look at their web site, it has some pictures and will give you the "flavor" and enthusiasm that will help you decide to attend. The rooms are great and we have booked a Suite on Bourbon St. with a balcony that will enable us to create the atmosphere you see during Mardi Gras, with beads and "come on America, show me your _ _ _ _!  The Royal Sonesta is right on Bourbon St. in the French Quarter where it all happens, just walk out the door and it is instant party!!

The French Quarter has it all; some of the best restaurants in the world and some of the worst, shops, shops and more shops, from T-shirts to very expensive antiques and art work, and everything in between.  It has every imaginable bar you can think of, from dumps like "Maggie"s" to "Gentlemen's Clubs" to Pat O'Brian's, with everything from burlesque to live Cajun/jazz/blues/R&R music and open 24 hours.  Plus you can take your drink with you out onto the street; the streets are blocked off at night to cars.   Within walking distance are museums, tours, casino, artist fairs, you name it.  You can even take a tour of what used to be Ray Masker"s McDonalds!!!!
