Fourth of July Picnics
Every July 4 Sangley
Point would have bash! The field behind the Administration Building would
be converted into a huge picnic ground with pavilions and tables and a
stage. There would be free food and drinks! There would be stage shows
of music and magic! There would be the usual games; potato sack races,
three-legged races, and more! The JPJ school-yard would be closed in for
the greased pig chase! A greased pole would be erected! Cash prizes were
awarded! The Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps would highlight the afternoon!
All in all, a very good time was had by one and all!
