U. S. NAVAL STATION, SANGLEY PT.

The Sangley Point newspaper was a weekly known as The Cañacao Clipper. It was printed on heavy, pure white paper. It was edited by a corpulent civilian by the name of Szenes. It contained a summary of events of the past week as well as feature articles. It was the first time I ever had my name and picture in a newspaper of any kind!

The daily schedules, announcements, and duty rosters were disseminated by means of the mimeographed POD (Plan of the Day), which was delivered door to door late in the afternoon by a number of enlisted men.
