Beaten to death by Union Soldiers. Children raised by relatives.Accor ding to a letter written by Emmie Blagg to Joyce Miller, Elizabeth's maiden name was Mary Booker. Her name may have been either Elizabeth Mary or Mary Elizabeth? Unsure at this time since I have conflicting 01-31-98 In one of the letters written by Emmie Blagg to Joyce Bowden Miller s he stated the following: Her grandfather (Abner Hambrick) was killed in the war and the Northe rn Army came in on her grandmother (Elizabeth Booker Hambrick) one nigh t and beat her up so much until she died and her father (Jabez Hamrick) was only 3 years old at the time. Apparently, the extended family member s of both Abner and Elizabeth split the children between the different families and raised them as their own. This could explain why Emmi e was under the impression that her grandparents names were John and Mary Hambrick.spouse: Hamrick, Abner Pierce (~1829 - 1863)02-02-98 If the army came in and beat Elizabeth to death, then apparently sh e must be buried somewhere in either Lincoln or Wilkes County, Georgia.
